Asked about the allegations, Barisal Metropolitan Awami League organizing secretary Zahidur Rahman Monir Mollah told reporters that he was at home at the time of the incident. On the other hand, ward councilor Saidur Rahman Zakir claimed that the allegation was not true and that he had gone to the spot after hearing the incident. Councilor Mr. Zakir Hossain did not agree to say more than that.
 
All ordinary workers are demanding immediate trial of the terrorists in this incident. Their demand is that if the attackers on labor-friendly Sumon Mollah are not arrested and brought under the law, the road transport will be stopped and the southern region will be paralyzed.
