Russia has imposed a series of sanctions on Russia since its invasion of Ukraine. The goal is to put economic pressure on Moscow, but Russian President Vladimir Putin is reluctant to do so.

According to the BBC, Russian President Vladimir Putin made the remarks at a state-of-the-art meeting broadcast on Wednesday morning, local time.

Putin said in a statement issued on Wednesday that Russia's central bank would not need to print currency to handle the sanctions.

Russia launched an operation in Ukraine on February 24. The day after that, the process of excluding Russia from the European Council began. Russia has been a member of this council for almost 28 years.
